If you need financial assistance, you'll need to borrow money from someone else to pay your fees and dues, because JF&CS takes a very long time to get you the money. That particular department drags their rear ends, they give you the runaround, invalidate your questions concerns and comments, all the while threatening you if you have the audacity to be inquisitive, "...you're more than welcome to apply elsewhere for financial assistance." Tell them you want to pick up the check/monies and to not mail it to the recipient. Pima County sends all their mail to Phoenix, gets routed there, and then returns to Pima County. Checks get stolen and lost because of that. Only use this organization for financial assistance if you absolutely have to.

It took me weeks of getting the run around from staff who kept changing the story on hours they were available, eligibility etc. and made some pretty in appropriate comments about not being of the Jewish faith. This place is really not conducive to mental health. It felt more like a shell game.

I gotta tell ya. When it comes to Above and Beyond. JFCS Tucson. Transcends the above accolade on a galactic high level. There is not enough Thanks, Appreciation and Gratitude throughout the known two trillion plus galaxies to express my love. For several years now JFCS has come to my rescue on many occasions. For myself, their staff that I had the pleasure of dealing with was always kind, considerate and very helpful. They have actually secured a roof over my head and as well made sure there was food on my table. They have always been there for me in some very troubling and stressful times. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and the deepest crevis of my soul. Lord God Bless you all. I know He does.

Mrs. Debbie is very nice and she goes the extra mile to help individuals in need. I greatly appreciate what she did in helping me to pay my rent and providimg me with a food card for food. Thankyou so much for your time and getting me by the month i was in a financial hardship.

They supported me with free psychological therapy for domestic violence, they were super kind and the costs were very affordable.

I do not recommend this place, Mrs. Sharon has no ethics. She sided with one of the parents. They should have staff with ethics.

I was assigned to a counselor who displayed what I can only describe as a type of sociopathic behavior; An Australian woman with an obvious underlying temper and completely unempathetic which is disturbing given her career path. She liked talking about herself intermittently, and had a cold disconnected demeanor. She said some very off-beat and strange things such as where she worked before and how she didn't like it because it was too loud. I wanted Grief counseling as I had lost two people very close to me. Getting help is difficult when you're feeling vulnerable. I wanted to talk about the spiritual aspect of losing someone dear to my heart. I asked if she was a spiritual person and she got right in my face, stared me squarely in the eyes and said, "What difference should that make to you?!" I had obviously struck a nerve and her intent seemed almost threatening. It certainly shook me up, and I decided that was our last session. When I called the front desk to stop the sessions, it was my intent to remain completely quiet of what transpired for my own privacy. But, I feel it is important to express to others anonymously as to my experience here, so others can make informed choices. One thing to keep in mind is you will have to pour your heart out in detail to someone for an hour during an introductory in-person interview before they assign you to a specific counselor. Then you have to repeat your heartache all over again on your actual first session with the counselor assigned to you. I was not informed about this and thought I was speaking to my actual counselor the first time. I had no idea of the atual credentials of the first person I talked to. I was also told by my counselor that she could share her notes about me with the other counselors if she ever felt stuck. Not only wierd, but destroys the trust, privacy, and basic respect of a patient / counselor relationship.

During these uncertain times it's good to fall back on faith.

Do not go here. Their billing department is a joke. They have overcharged me by hundreds of dollars. The people do not answer the phone or answer your questions. Also, they have increased costs by over 40% just to get rid of people without insurance. My advice is to stay away!
