I have a lot of hakaras hatov for Congregation Levi Yitzchok. It’s a heimishe shul and I’ve stopped in from time to time for davening. But emes, I don’t think I’ll be going back. There’s one fellow there who mamash made me very uncomfortable. He’s about 6’1, heavyset, with long unkempt hair and beard, maybe in his mid to late 50s, with meshuggeh-looking eyes. His hands were shaking, and he was going around saying he “owns the shul” or something like that. Very odd behavior. What really gave me a bad feeling was how he was acting around the kinder — it didn’t feel proper, chalilah. He said his name was Steve or maybe Shmuel, with a last name beginning with “L.” For me, it just doesn’t feel safe, and that’s why I won’t be coming back
