Woman was very unprofessional and unprepared on the phone with me. All I wanted was an appointment. One of the worst agencies in DC

A great community center and they have excelente sessions on legal elder care information. The lunch is good and welcoming.

I don’t know what they do that has them soooooooooo busy all the time! There’s always an egregious wait time when you call. It’s also pointless to visit them in person. At best they’ll write your contact information down and someone might call you 2 weeks later!

I am trying to get a return email from Director Hines - a reply to a voicemail from Ms Courtney George- I have been lied to and mislead by the hotline - trying to report an experience no at risk adult residents in the District should ever need to experience or have to have someone listen and respond in a professional manner - looking forward to a response-

Sometimes they are helpful but it’s almost like pulling teeth to speak to someone or gain the help and assistance needed. The communication is way off at times. Being ignored while trying to assist your elderly family member is frustrating.

Absolutely not. The female worker was professional. I called APS because the food is awful and they think they are destroying my benefits.

The DC Department of Aging and Community Living has been a tremendous resource for my family. Their programs, like Safe at Home and caregiver support services, have provided invaluable assistance to my aging parents. The staff is knowledgeable and always ready to help. To supplement the care provided by DACL, we also engaged CareYaya for additional in-home support. Their student caregivers have been compassionate and reliable, offering flexibility that perfectly complements DACL's services.

FINDING A CARETAKER IS DIFFICULT. THE STRUCTURAL BRANCHES AS TO WHO DOES WHAT, IS ON THE FLOOR. RESULTING I LOST COMMUNICATION AND CASE IS LOST SOMEWHERE. I FEEL MY MOTHER WILL PAST AWAY BEFORE THEY FIND ME A CARETAKER.

Very poor customer service. The agency doesn’t return phone calls. It doesn’t matter how many times you call, Renita Butler or her supervisor Mr. Dobson just ignore your messages. I hope when their love one ages, they are met with the same respect given to others. I even sent a message to the director but never received a response. Poor, poor, poor customer service
