On a random Sunday, we decided to head to the cemetery to see if we could locate my grandparents' graves. The caretaker on duty approached us to let us know they were cleaning up some downed trees from a storm. When I asked if there was a map, he immediately jumped into action and headed to get a list of burial sites. He escorted us to my grandparents' graves and made sure we didn't need anything else. I really appreciated him stopping what he was doing to help me fulfill something I've wanted to do for a long time.

Resting place is a peaceful oasis of rare continuous green space in Anacostia. Medal of Honor recipient Leopold Karpeles is buried here. Well maintained: grass cut, walking paths mowed, etc.
