Stay away! They are a scam. Just because an organization has non in title, doesn’t mean they aren’t all about profit. I am a 100% disabled, Marine Infantry Sergeant who runs a veteran and humanitarian aid nonprofit. JFCS was contracted through the department of veterans affairs to manage the housing the VA pays for. First the housing inspector only wanted to talk about how incredible she was, how she knew everything had done everything. Except her job apparently. The one thing she did not do was inspect the house. There are multiple broken windows, doors that do not open or close, no fire extinguisher, no smoke detectors, half the doors knobs do not work, huge holes in yard, broken appliances, a lot of problems that would not pass any form of inspection. They were paid for and required by law to meet with me weekly. They never did, just pocketed the money. The first time they did meet, after 3 months of failing to, they sent me a text, telling me they told the department of veterans and affairs to take my house away the next day, due to their failures, no fault of my own. When I tried to reapply, the manager got extremely rude. Then went as high as the supervisor of the entire organization to try to ensure I lost the housing benefits I earned fighting for this country, tax dollars pay for. That beyond sadistic and petty. They don’t even pay for housing, the Va does and pays them to manage, which they don’t! But their attitude is it is theirs to take away, if they feel like it, regardless of consequences to the veteran. Just another example of government contracting to bad contractors. If you are a veteran getting Va housing, do yourself a favor. Tell your Va social worker to have it managed by Saint Vincent de Paul instead. Avoid them at all cost for all services if you are a veteran. Avoid them if you are anybody else too. Nothing but con artists! Deserve negative stars and may get a lawsuit.

Absolutely unprofessional. Assumed and told another agency wrong information about myself. Assumed I had gotten kicked off SSDI. Marine Corps Veteran. Just signed up for disability 3 weeks ago. Never received any benefits from SSD. BRITTANY told another agency I stopped getting benefits for some reason when I haven't ever gotten benefits. Lied about my service. Lied about screening me and didn't apologize or take accountability for her actions. Management covered for her actions, of course. If your not a Veteran why are you dealing with veterans? Complete lack of respect.

Edit 2025: I am still grateful for the help I received from JFCS many years ago to help me get off the street. I have been stable and able to rebuild my life. I am still recovering from years of chronic homelessness but I have not been homeless for 5 years now. Thank you! First Review: I was homeless and on the street for months and they helped me with a security deposit to get off the street. Now I've been in a house for two years. I am so grateful for this place!

I am giving JFCS , the Camp Mariposa program 5 star if I could give more I would ! I can not say enough good things about this program and the staff that make this such an amazing place to be . This program not only is amazing for the kids but also parents on so many levels. It really is about family to them and making things comfertable and safe for everyone . The staff is very trustworthy and kind and they help with whatever they can . I love this program my child loves this program and I can say this is worthy of every star given . Thank you jfcs and the camp mariposa program !

I just want to say a big thank you for everything you do for our community. As a Holocaust survivor, I’ve received not only financial support, but also something even more special — the chance to be part of a caring group. The havurah means so much to me. Always helped me out when I needed it most

This organization has had a huge impact on my kids and they are very supportive. The movie night was awesome because as a single mom with 3 kids it is something we don't get to do often. The atmosphere is something my kids look forward to being apart of and they have made lifelong connections. We look forward to being a part of Camp Mariposa for years to come. My kids have been going to Camp Mariposa for almost 3 years now and LOVE it! For them to be able to be around other kids who have shared experiences is priceless in helping them heal from their past traumas. While the trauma never goes away, at least they are learning the skills needed to best deal with them and learn to live a healthy lifestyle.

This organization is a thriving network of people creating positive change in the community. Each department acts as a bridge to a brighter future, as people find connection with one another, as well as important resources. Specifically, Camp Mariposa offers a deeply healing experience for at-risk youth, where addiction prevention and harm reduction are the facilitating forces which transform reality for young people and their families. We thank God for JFCS and all the ways the community is positively impacted through their soulful outreach.

JFCS is an amazing local resource for families. Camp Mariposa is an awesome place for kids who have been affected by addiction, it gives them a safe space to be with other kids who get it and compassionate staff. A huge thank you to Scott and the rest of the staff!!
