My mother has been living at Hammond Glen for almost three years now and I could not be happier with this community. Yes, they have a lot of different activities so there is “something for everyone”. Yes, they provide a range of dining options to suite a range of tastes. Yes, they provide transportation and other services that make the lives of their residents more convenient. But all of that is just entry into the game. The reason that I am so happy with Hammond Glen is because of the staff. Almost to a person, they know and care deeply about their residents. It begins with Bruce Johnson, the Executive Director. He sets the tone and carries the weight. As someone who spent her career in management positions of large corporations, I understand the tightrope he needs to walk daily. He needs to stay within spending guidelines yet provide infrastructure and living support to his community. This is not easy. If he had unlimited resources, Hammond Glen would be like the Ritz Carlton and no one could afford to live there. Bruce is laser focused on his residents and does his best to balance needs and resources. He and Ebony, the Development Director, seem to know every resident by sight as well as a good many of their family members. They see them as human beings and treat them with respect and dignity (even though many can be tough customers!). My highest praise, though, goes to Paulette, Christine and the staff of the assisted living floor, Haven. My Mom needed to move there a year ago due to medical issues. I can’t begin to tell you the peace of mind I have knowing Mom is under their care. They go above and beyond to advocate for the well-being of their residents and respond to whatever requests Mom has or questions I might have. You cannot mandate or even teach this level of caring. You have it or you don’t, and Paulette and her team have it. I know my Mom is in good hands. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Whether you (or a parent) are fully independent and are looking for an engaging environment in which to live, or need the support of assisted living, Hammond Glen is an outstanding option.

Facility was top-notch. every morning exercise class was very helpful. Some waiting staff had attitude. I never got the TV in bedroom as promised. The table in room was too high for comfort. Maintenance person did not come once during my 2 week stay
3 helpful votesMy dad was a resident for more than 2 years and all of us were very happy. The staff was responsive and caring and the entire community was warm and welcoming. Hats off to Bruce who does a fabulous job taking care of the community, the staff and the residents. Thank you!
11 helpful votesHammond Glen has been such a blessing for my mom, who has lived there for a year. The staff is outstanding and has been so supportive - my mom raves about Bruce, Sharnetta, Ebony, Javelin and the rest of the HG team. The community is lovely, and my mom has made many new friends. We are grateful for the safe, loving, warm environment surrounding her there.
12 helpful votesFood is awful! Full of salt and artificial ingredients in desserts. Quality of my New Bathroom, after only 8 months of one person ware, is rusting around trim and water puddling out of shower. Refrigerators give no water, have to buy your own drinking water, and water in my kitchen smells so bad…two elevators for about 300 residents breaks down on a daily basis..apartment cleaning was suppose to be once a week, so minimal, that most residents do their own or have cleaners from the outside to really clean, or do their own. Horrible place to retire and false advertising on Facebook.
4 helpful votesI cannot tell you how much we are going to miss Hammond Glen. My father lived there for over 2 years and it was a wonderful experience! The residents became like family. The staff is loving and kind. From the minute you walk in the door and greet the concierge staff, you know that your family is cared for. Bruce Johnson and his team love what they do and it is very apparent when you come to visit your loved one. Hammond Glen was a great choice for us.

The planned activities for the residents are amazing, the staff is very responsive and friendly, and she has already become friends with many of the residents. Everyone is very warm and welcoming. My mom also loves the layout of her newly renovated apartment. Thanks for helping to make this big change in her life a positive experience.
7 helpful votesI am a new resident in Hammond Glenn, and I am super happy with my decision to move here. 😊 The staff and the residents are very nice and friendly. Everything here is clean, orderly, and well planned. There are different activities each day to keep everyone entertained, and free transportation is provided to doctors’ appointments, shopping malls, and other venues as needed. The Management Team, the employees who staff the office, take care of maintenance, and make and serve the varied and delicious meals that we eat are extremely helpful and very professional. I am so glad that I chose Hammond Glenn as my home! This is a wonderful and happy place 😊 to live in and to share your life with others. Everyone here really cares about YOU!!! ❤️
5 helpful votesHammond Glen is above and beyond built on the ideology of "residents come first". My mom had to quickly move from an independent living residence to their assisted living floor and within a week they were able to do this for us. They were empatheitc and so kind in answering ALL of my questions. Bruce and Kristin are the epitome of professionalism. They recently hired Paulette for the 2nd floor and WOW, you could not ask for a kinder or more gentle soul in caring for your parent. This facility has staff that know their residents and take the time to ask about them consistently. I hihgly recommend this facility if your are looking for a place for yourself of your family!!!!!!
