Mt. Benedict Cemetery.

CLOSED ALL THE TIME! For years every time my family left an Irish flag at the grave it would be gone the next time & I don’t know if it is the staff or others stealing. But other than that there were no issues with the cemetery UNTIL they decided to change the hours to 9-3 M-F & CLOSED on the weekends…. If you work 9-5 you can just NEVER visit your loved ones. I have never heard of such restrictive hours for a cemetery! Open merely 30 hours a week- during prime working hours for MOST people in the world. It’s not like you can just move your loved ones. They need to get it together & open the damn gates on the weekends. Shame on you!

Don't bury your loved ones at Mt. Benedict Cemetery. Don't make the mistake our family did and make Mt. Benedict Cemetery your loved ones last resting place as we did for ours. The quality of the grounds is inconsistent; they are carelessly kept and maintenance is wanting. In addition, the customer service, particularly given the sensitivity of the experience, is very poor. Not sure what the role of the "superintendent" is at a cemetery but it certainly isn't to address concerns with care. She and they are inattentive. We wish we never selected the Mt. Benedict Cemetery. If their "sole purpose is the upkeep and care of the last resting", they need to find another purpose. Try to find another cemetery, even though you are researching in a time of sadness, remember that the final resting place should bring the grieved ones peace and comfort. It's only distress at Mt. Benedict Cemetery.
