This organization is an excellent partner in the community. It helps so many people, both Jewish and non-Jewish.

I have been connected to JFCS for more than 20 years. JFCS represents all that's good in the community - people wanting to help, and people receiving great services and programs. JFCS helps people at every stage of life. And as a volunteer, there are a multitude of ways to get involved and give back.

I needed financial help with something. JFS responded to me and helped me in 3 days. Governmental help would have taken at least a year, if not much longer, because of being buried in red tape. I am now going to inquire about Nefesh B’Nefesh to move to Israel. The US doesn’t help people who try. NJ gives to people who have been destructive members of society. I would much rather live in Israel where I have something in common with the people around me! Bless you, JFS!

JFCS is an incredible organization! As a board member the work that is done is nothing short of extraordinary. My family and I have also used their services and have been thrilled with the level of care provided.

The people who work here are committed and kind, it benefits people far beyond the Jewish community in mental health, senior care, food assistance and in many other ways.

JFCS was incredible when I was looking for resources and supports for my parents (not Jewish). They are available to help all people regardless of religious affiiation. I was so grateful to be connected to a social worker who helped us (the adult kids) help them, navigate their medical bills, food needs and retrofitting their home for supports. I have referred them to my friends who have had the same positive expereince. Sometimes it's just nice to be able to pick up the phone and call an agency who actually picks up the phone, calls you back when they say they will, and provides good, practical advice. They are experts in Mercer County and beyond. As an educator, they are a tremendous resurce to the schools and parents in our area who may be in need of supports for school-age children.

Still waiting. I experienced a traumatic event that I am personally struggling with. I finally reached out for help. I need to speak with someone I am NOT ok. I was given the number to JFS of Mercer County to seek out that help that I know I need. I have called twice and although the message says they will get back to you within 48 house they have not. I called 5 and 3 days ago. One would think if someone is strong enough to finally reach out for help they could get some.

Simply an incredible social services organization dedicated to helping families, seniors, and children of all backgrounds, through providing counseling services, addressing food insecurity (food pantry and mobile pantry), social and nutritional support for seniors, and masterfully engaging teens, just to name a few!

Everything went downhill when Dr. Mattes left and they replaced him with that horrible nurse practitioner (don't remember her name and I honestly don't care to). I have pretty severe ADHD and after years of trial and error throughout my childhood, I finally found the right medication for me by the time I was 19. I took it without issue for ten years. Then this new horrible nurse comes in and decides that I need to switch medications because she has a gripe with anything labeled as a "controlled substance". She along with other staff tried to gaslight me into believing that refusing to switch meds for no other reason than her personal preference made me unreasonable. I came to find out later that I tried multiple non-stimulant ADHD meds as a child with horrible results, so I was right to stand my ground. Psych meds are no joke. When you find something that works, you stick with it. Everyone knows that. Why they would hire someone who feels otherwise is beyond me, someone with that mindset shouldn't be allowed to work in this field. The only person who even remotely seemed to be on my side with this issue was my counselor, Shirley, and I give her credit for that. But when Shirley tried to reach out to the nurse and see if she'd make an exception to her ridiculous rule, I don't even think she had the decency to respond to her. Now, I'm floundering. Do you know how hard it is being unmedicated for severe ADHD and trying to find a new provider that takes my insurance? I'm a mess. I'm lucky I'm at least able to hold down a job, but as far as basic day-to-day life things go, I'm incredibly reliant on my significant other to help me. The list of things I have to get done keeps getting larger and larger and I feel like I'm drowning. I would have no problem if my medication that was working perfectly wasn't ripped away from me. JFCS, you hurt me so much more than you helped me. If you help make this right, I will remove this review.
